Cut Spending
The liberals look around at economic problems and vote to raise taxes and pay for even more ineffective and inefficient social programs. When I look at these problems I understand that lowering taxes and giving money back to citizens is a more direct and more constitutional way to get us back to prosperity.
As we cut spending in Washington, we will lower taxes as well. As taxes are cut, Americans will be better equipped to pay their bills and meet their needs. Businesses will be able to hire rather than fire, and expand rather than retreat.
Put simply, I know you can spend your money more efficiently, and I want to give you the freedom to do so. With a Utahn as Finance Chair, we will make serious spending cuts and raise federal revenue by cutting taxes and regulations to grow the economy.
Legislation Proposed to Cut Federal Government Spending:
During the fall of 2011 Senator Hatch and Senator Coburn introduced S. 1476, legislation that would extend the current pay freeze on federal civilian employees' salaries by an additional three years and potentially save the federal government over $600 Billion.
"We simply must do more to address our runaway government spending and debt. The solutions to these problems don't need to be complicated. Our bill will generate significant savings—more than $600 billion—by implementing just a small handful of relatively simple reforms." –Orrin Hatch
