Fiscal Responsibility

In my time in the Senate, I have consistently fought to keep spending down and to promote a fiscally responsible federal government.

I believe the biggest threat to economic growth is uncontrolled government spending. That is why I opposed the so-called stimulus bill, because the stimulus bill was a hodgepodge of liberal-targeted spending projects with a few decent ideas thrown in to try to appease Republicans. And, its massive spending plan was neither temporary, targeted nor timely.

As I have throughout my career, I will continue to fight to keep spending down and promote fiscally responsible government.
