Senator Hatch responded:

"We cannot tax and spend our way out of this economic crisis. Washington needs to tighten its fiscal belt, rein in the runaway federal deficit and bring real relief to Americans struggling to make ends meet, pay their mortgages and keep their jobs. SENATORHATCH.STATE REVENUES HAVE EXPLODED OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS. MDS OF WHICH I HAVE THE EXACT NUMBERS FISCAL YEAR 1999 WAS 17.9 BILLION IN FISCAL YEAR 2009 THE BUDGET WAS 31.6 BILLION. I BELIEVE IF YOU EXAMINED ALL THE REST OF THE STATES BUDGETS YOU WOULD FIND THAT REVENUES HAVE EXPLODED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE ELECTED OFFICIALS SPENT ALL THE MONEY ON NEW PROGRAMS, ETC INSTEAD OF RETURNING MOST OF THE MONEY TO THE TAXPAYERS OR BANKING MOST IN THE RAINY DAY FUND. THESE FACTS WOULD REFUTE OBAMAS DIVISIVE COMMENTS OF THE FAILED ECONOMIC POLICIES OF THE PAST. THESE COMMENTS ARE BELIEVED BY THE PRESS AND NEARLY EVERY AMERICAN I TALK TO. THEY MUST BE REFUTED BY FACTS SUCH AS WHAT I'M TELLING YOU OR WE WILL CONTINUE TO GO DOWN THIS SOCIALIST PATH. IT FRANKLY DISGUSTS ME THAT NOONE IN OUR PARTY HAS THE TEMERITY TO STAND UP WITH FACTS TO REFUTE WHAT OBAMA SAYS. AS I HAVE ALWAYS RESPECTED YOU FOR YOUR FAIR STANCES ON MOST ISSUES, PLEASE BE THE ONE TO DO THE RESEARCH AND MAKE THE CASE FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE PAST REPUBLICAN DOCTRINES ON ECONOMIC POLICY! SINCERELY MARK D LEINER MDWACJM@AOL.COM
