Salt Lake City, UT—On Saturday at the Wasatch County Lincoln Day Event, Senator Orrin Hatch received 91 votes, more than three times the votes of the next opponent, in a straw poll conducted by the Wasatch County Republicans. The straw poll was open to only Wasatch County residents; making it the first straw poll that campaigns could not stack with staff or people outside of the county, giving a true snapshot of the support the Senator enjoys from county residents.
"I am grateful for the support of so many strong Republicans in Wasatch County and I look forward to taking my message of limited government, fiscal responsibility and Utah values to every county over the coming weeks," Hatch stated after the victory. "I am confident that Utahns understand the importance of bringing Utah's good fiscal sense to the nation's most pressing issues and will support me in my reelection efforts."
