'Michael's Story' Kicks Off the Making a Difference. . . One Utahn at a Time Series
Salt Lake City, UT – The Hatch Election Committee released the first in a series of video messages today entitled: "Making a Difference – One Utahn at a Time." These videos will highlight Utahns who experienced a problem with the federal government and sought help from Senator Hatch.
"One of the hallmarks of my service in the Senate has always been constituent services," stated Senator Hatch. "I literally help thousands of Utahns each year who contact my office when they have problems with the various federal agencies. I have always tried to go the extra mile and do everything possible to try and find a solution to our citizens' problems. I have been successful in many cases and I am proud to be able to showcase some of the great Utahns who have been helped over the years."
The first video, "Michael's Story" encapsulates the experiences of Michael Cox when he contacted Senator Hatch because his wife had died tragically in childbirth. He was left alone to take care of an infant and one other young child. He desperately needed some help from a family member and his wife's mother was willing to come from Peru to help get this young family back on their feet. The mother-in-law had applied for a visitor's visa and had been denied. Senator Hatch and his staff were able to work with the family and help them apply for a Humanitarian Parole for the grandmother to come. The Humanitarian Parole was approved and the mother-in-law was able to come and help Michael and this young family through a very difficult time.
